Joanna has worked as a counselor for over 5 years, and through growing up in a large Native American family, she entered the field after recognizing the natural inclination she had to care for others and to foster community. After working in a different career for 10 years she felt her heart being called to practice as a counselor. She is passionate about social justice, advocacy, equity, education, human rights, access to health care and reciprocity. She specializes in the areas of Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Insufficient Sleep, Relationship Conflict, Substance Abuse, Grief and Bereavement, Burnout and Trauma, and she uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy and Brief Therapy Interventions.
